Acceptable Use Policy

Version 1.2, Effective May 1, 2026

CakeLedger is designed for bakers. These rules ensure a safe and productive environment for all users.

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of the Terms of Service between you and The Ledger Pulse Inc. ("Company"). It applies to all users of the CakeLedger application ("Service"). Violation of this policy may result in account action as described in the Enforcement section below.

1. Data Integrity

You agree to maintain data integrity and not create fake accounts or enter false information to manipulate the system.

By using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Create multiple accounts for the same individual
  • Enter intentionally false or misleading data (ingredients, prices, orders, customer information)
  • Manipulate cost calculations or community data through fabricated entries
  • Impersonate another person or business
  • Use the Service to generate fraudulent financial records

2. Scraping and Automation

You agree not to use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to extract data from CakeLedger.

By using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service using automated tools
  • Use bots, scripts, or automated systems to interact with the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Attempt to access the Service's underlying source code, APIs, or databases outside of authorized use
  • Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or security measures

3. Security

You agree to keep your account secure and not attempt unauthorized access to other accounts or test for vulnerabilities without written permission.

By using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Share your account credentials with others or allow others to use your account
  • Attempt to access another user's account or data
  • Probe, scan, or test the Service for security vulnerabilities without prior written permission from the Company
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Attempt to overload, disrupt, or degrade the Service (denial-of-service attacks)

4. Content

You agree to use CakeLedger respectfully and not for anything abusive, harassing, or illegal.

By using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Store or transmit abusive, threatening, defamatory, or harassing content
  • Use the Service to facilitate harassment of any individual
  • Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable local, provincial, federal, or international law
  • Store content that infringes on another party's intellectual property rights

5. Commercial Misuse

CakeLedger is for running your baking business. You agree not to resell the Service or use it to build competing products.

By using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service
  • Use community data to build or enhance a competing product or service
  • Use the Service as a data source for market research products sold to third parties
  • White-label or rebrand the Service without a written agreement from the Company

6. Marketplace Conduct

You agree to use the marketplace honestly. No fake listings, fake reviews, fake reports, or off-platform circumvention.

By using the marketplace, you agree not to:

  • Publish listings for items, services, or terms you cannot lawfully offer or fulfill
  • Misrepresent the price, condition, location, ingredients, allergens, expiry, weight, dimensions, photographs, or any other material attribute of a listing
  • List items on behalf of another person without disclosure and authority
  • Publish, request, solicit, exchange, or accept compensation for fake, manipulated, coordinated, or incentivized ratings, reviews, questions, answers, or reports
  • Submit reports, complaints, or takedown requests in bad faith
  • Use the marketplace, its messaging, or its directories to harass, threaten, or stalk other users
  • Use the marketplace to direct traffic to off-platform channels for the purpose of evading platform fees, moderation, safety controls, or these Terms
  • Aggregate, copy, scrape, republish, or sell marketplace listings, reviews, or directory data

7. Storefronts and Customer Sales

When you sell to your customers through CakeLedger, you must comply with the law and certain products are prohibited.

By using storefronts, payment links, public pages, or any customer-facing surface of the Service, you agree:

  • To sell only items and services you may lawfully sell in your jurisdiction and in any jurisdiction where the buyer is located
  • To hold all required permits, registrations, food-safety certifications, insurance, and licences before accepting orders
  • To accurately disclose ingredients, allergens, and any other information required by applicable law
  • Not to publish or sell, through any storefront, payment link, or public page operated through the Service: alcohol, cannabis, tobacco, vaping products, controlled substances, prescription medications, infant formula sold outside an authorized retail channel, dietary supplements making disease or medical claims, food products misbranded as having nutritional or medical benefits, weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives, hazardous materials, animals, human remains or body fluids, counterfeit goods, items infringing intellectual property, sexually explicit material, gambling services, multi-level-marketing or pyramid schemes, get-rich-quick offers, securities, cryptocurrency, or any item or service prohibited by the Company's payment processor or by applicable law
  • Not to use the Service to operate a charity, fundraising appeal, or political solicitation without prior written authorization from the Company
  • To honour the orders you accept, communicate clearly with customers, and resolve customer complaints in good faith and in accordance with applicable consumer-protection law
  • To make these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any other policy required by applicable law reasonably available to your customers

8. Payments and Anti-Fraud

Payment features must not be used to commit fraud, launder money, or evade taxes or sanctions.

By using payment features, you agree not to:

  • Process transactions that are fictitious, self-funded, or designed to manipulate sales metrics, dispute statistics, or payouts
  • Use the Service or any connected payment account to process payments for any business other than the business associated with your CakeLedger account
  • Engage in money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, tax evasion, or any other financial crime
  • Use stolen, unauthorized, or test payment instruments outside of explicit Company-provided test environments
  • Misrepresent the nature of goods or services to evade payment-processor restrictions or industry classification rules
  • Encourage, solicit, or accept off-platform payments for transactions that originate or are completed through the Service in order to evade fees, taxes, or moderation
  • Violate the terms of the Company's payment processor (currently Stripe Inc. and its affiliates) or any applicable card-network rule

9. AI-Powered Features

AI features must be used responsibly. No deepfakes, infringement, or deceptive output.

By using AI-powered features, you agree not to:

  • Submit prompts, inputs, or reference material that infringe a third party's intellectual-property, publicity, or privacy rights
  • Generate images, text, or audio depicting an identifiable real person without authorization
  • Generate content that is sexually explicit, exploits or endangers minors, incites violence, promotes hatred against a protected class, or facilitates self-harm
  • Use AI outputs in a manner that materially misleads customers about the nature, ingredients, origin, or quality of a product
  • Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or evade safety controls, prompts, or filters of any AI provider used by the Service
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercialize raw AI-generated outputs as a stand-alone product

10. Sanctions and Restricted Use

You must not use the Service if you are subject to sanctions or located in a sanctioned jurisdiction.

You may not access or use the Service if you are ordinarily resident in, or located in, a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions administered by Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, or the United Nations Security Council, or if you are listed on any applicable sanctions, denied-party, or restricted-party list. You may not use the Service to facilitate transactions with any person or in any jurisdiction prohibited by applicable sanctions or export-control law.

Enforcement

Violations are handled progressively: warning, suspension, termination. Serious violations may be referred to authorities.

The Company enforces this policy using a progressive approach:

  1. Warning: For first-time or minor violations, we will notify you and request corrective action.
  2. Suspension: For repeated or moderate violations, your account may be temporarily suspended.
  3. Termination: For severe or persistent violations, your account may be permanently terminated.
  4. Referral to authorities: For violations that constitute criminal activity, we may refer the matter to appropriate law enforcement.

The Company reserves the right to skip steps in the enforcement process for severe violations that pose an immediate risk to other users, the Service, or the Company.

Appeals: If you believe enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal within 14 days by contacting support@cakeledger.com with a detailed explanation. Appeals will be reviewed and responded to within 14 business days.
